In 2016, K-K Bracken launched a Kickstarter for the first-ever Steven Universe fan convention, Beach City Con. After two successful events, she started her own event planning business and created Empire City Con.
After two wonderful years in Virginia Beach, StevenCon moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. A bigger city for the theme, and a more accessible airport for faraway fans!
The Steven Universe fandom is very special and Empire City Con strives to create a space as warm, welcoming, inclusive, and accessible as the show it is based on.
Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Mayor K-K is a writer, planner, and lover of all things Steven Universe. She is a contributor and editor at pop culture news website The Geekiary and is writing a young adult fantasy series under the name Bracken Beveridge. Tiara is an Artist, Feminist, Entrepreneur, and Gamer. She loves Steven Universe and most of all, she loves Jasper. Lindsay spends most of her time in Cincinnati, Ohio. By day, she is a project manager, and by night, she likes to cry and sing with her brothers and pup Luna.
Outside of work in experimental research, Ria spends a lot of time playing the ukulele. Over the course of last year’s convention, she made it her goal to learn every single song on the Steven Universe soundtrack. Now that she’s figured out “Mr. Greg”, there’s no stopping this space train to the cosmos.

Katherine is a native of Norfolk, VA who loves the world of Steven Universe (especially Lapis) and the impact it’s had on so many people. When she’s not introducing people to the show or working on endless nerdy cross-stitch, you’ll find her fangirling over musicals and volunteering on the board of the Transgender Assistance Program of Virginia.
Renee C. is a social media butterfly with a love for fan conventions, casual cosplay, and creating or supporting unique real life experiences. She’s enjoyed conventions at almost every level, from attendee, to press, to director, to panelist, to industry guest.
