Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Empire City Con has made the decision to postpone until next year.

Empire City Con 2021 will take place November 12-14, 2021.

There are three main reasons for this postponement:

Until a vaccine is in circulation, gatherings of our size are ill-advised at best and extremely dangerous at worst. A vaccine will not be available by November 2020.

We are a destination con. That means people travel quite literally from all over the world to attend the event. Airports and travel are not safe in the time of a pandemic.

Even if a miracle occurs, we find it unfair and irresponsible to continue to take money for tickets, when cancellation is more likely than not.

If I already bought a ticket, what are my options?

Option 1: You can roll over your admission to 2021. If you do this, we will send you a small gift as a token of our appreciation. All perks from your tickets will be included during next year’s event. To receive your gift, you will have to let us know you’re opting to roll over your admission.

Option 2: We can send you a refund less fees. Unfortunately, our ticket seller and payment processor do not refund us our fees regardless if an event is canceled or not. If you opt for a refund, you can purchase a ticket next year at the rate you were refunded. 

For example: You bought a base pass for $70. We will refund you $60. Next year, you can purchase a ticket for a flat $60 (we will waive all fees). This price will never increase for you throughout the ticket selling period.

In addition, we will have an early bird period to purchase these tickets exclusively for those who received refunds for 2020.

What if I already made hotel reservations?

The Crowne Plaza Charlotte Executive Park has canceled all official reservations under our room block. If you booked at a different location or did not use our discount code, you will be responsible for canceling your own reservations. Contact Crowne Plaza for more information.
